ZARCH, the Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Architecture and Urbanism, is a biannual scientific publication that was born as an initiative of the Department of Architecture of the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza. It is published in both digital and print format, and each issue is devoted to a single subject. It presents, original research work, not previously published in other formats or publications, such as journals, books, conferences or seminars.
The main objective is to publish research work on Architecture and Urbanism to encourage debate on the subjects addressed in the different issues. The journal offers its results to the School of Engineering and Architecture, to increase knowledge among students and teachers, as well as to the academic and professional communities, contributing to establish connections with other schools and universities. It is addressed to a wide range academic and professional public, including architects and engineers, students and researchers in the fields of Architecture, Urbanism and Engineering,, and to those interested in their projects and constructions, such as philosophers, historians, critics and theorists in the fields of art, architecture and human sciences, writers, sociologists, anthropologists and geographers.
From the call for papers for the first issue, the journal starts the process of indexation that any scientific publication should strive for. The selection of articles is based on a peer review system. The manuscripts are sent to two reviewers outside the Editorial Council following the double blind method, to ensure the quality of the published papers.
